Shipping & Returns Policy

At Night Goddess Games, we ship physical products from our Chicago-based fulfillment center. Retail orders are currently available to customers within the United States only. International shipping is not yet available for retail, though we do fulfill international rewards for crowdfunding campaigns.

We use UPS for most shipments. If UPS is unavailable to your location (such as PO boxes or certain rural addresses), we’ll choose the best available alternative, typically USPS Priority Mail or an equivalent service that includes tracking and insurance.

Order Processing & Tracking

Orders are processed within 2–3 business days whenever possible. If there will be any delay—such as during holidays or scheduled time away—we will post a notice at checkout. If your order includes any items marked as pre-order or backorder, please see our Pre-order FAQ page for policies on combined shipments.

You will receive tracking information by email as soon as your shipping label is created. Please note that tracking links may not show activity immediately; most packages begin scanning within 24 hours of pickup by the carrier.

Shipping Costs & Free Shipping

Shipping rates are based on the total weight of your order. We use a simplified rate table designed to reflect average shipping costs across the U.S., so you won’t pay more just because of where you live. Rates also account for packaging materials and handling.

Retail orders of $100 or more (after coupons, before taxes and shipping) qualify for free domestic shipping.

Kickstarter rewards and items purchased in other crowdfunding campaigns (like the BackerKit Holiday Market) can be combined with retail items in the same order, but only the retail portion counts toward the free shipping threshold. This is because crowdfunding items are frequently priced lower than usual, and crowdfunding revenue also covers things like illustration, development, and bulk production—not just the cost of the items themselves—so it’s accounted for differently in our fulfillment system.

Crowdfunding Fulfillment (including Ready-To-Ship campaigns)

If you backed one of our crowdfunding campaigns, including a Ready-To-Ship campaign like the BackerKit Holiday Market, you may have items available in your account as part of our backer fulfillment system. When your digital coupons are issued and we notify you that fulfillment is live, you will have one year from the issue date to claim your rewards.

Shipping costs will be calculated and charged at the time you finalize your order.

  • If you are located in Illinois, sales tax on your backer rewards was already collected via BackerKit and will not be charged again.
  • You are welcome to add retail items to any backer order. In that case, sales tax will be applied to those additional items (if applicable), and shipping charges may be adjusted based on the updated total weight.

Local Pickup (Chicago Only)

If you’re located in or traveling to Chicago, you may select local pickup at checkout. Pickup is available by appointment only at our fulfillment center in Chicago’s North Center neighborhood.

Once your order is processed, you’ll receive an email with a link to schedule a pickup within the next 30 days. Pickup times are subject to availability and must be scheduled in advance.

If you have a narrow travel window or need to arrange a very specific pickup time, please contact us via our contact form before placing your order to guarantee that we can accommodate your request.

If you do not schedule a pickup within 30 days of receiving your scheduling email—or if you miss your scheduled pickup without contacting us to reschedule—your order will be canceled.

  • For retail orders, your payment will be refunded (minus an administrative fee to cover our time and any nonrefundable payment processing fees).
  • For crowdfunding rewards, any unclaimed items will be returned to your account and can be re-claimed before their expiration date.

Pickup instructions will be provided once your appointment is confirmed.

Order Cancellations

Once an order is placed, it is considered final. If you contact us before your order has been processed, we may be able to cancel it at our discretion. In such cases, please note that a nonrefundable transaction fee will be deducted from your refund to cover payment processing and administrative costs.

Orders that have already been fulfilled or handed off to a carrier cannot be canceled.

Please note: Kickstarter rewards and other crowdfunding items, including those from Ready-To-Ship campaigns, are not eligible for refunds or cancellations under any circumstances once the campaign has ended.

Undeliverable or Refused Packages

If a package is returned to us as undeliverable—for example, due to an incorrect address, repeated missed delivery attempts, or refusal to accept the package—we will contact you.

We do not issue refunds for undeliverable or refused packages. We are happy to re-ship your order, but you will be responsible for paying new shipping costs.

Returns & Replacements

We do not accept returns for change-of-mind or sizing issues. However, if your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, we’ll make it right.

To request a replacement:

  • Contact us within 14 days of delivery.
  • Include your order number and at least one clear photo of the item and packaging.
  • In most cases, photo evidence is sufficient. We may occasionally request the return of an item, depending on the product and the issue.

If an item needs to be returned, we will cover the return shipping cost in cases of damage, defect, or fulfillment error. Approved replacements will be shipped to you at no additional charge.

Crowdfunding rewards are not eligible for returns or refunds. However, if your backer items arrive damaged or incomplete, we will gladly make things right in accordance with the policy above.
