Gen Con 2024 - Night Goddess Games

Run Divination at Gen Con and earn a free four-day badge!

Night Goddess Games is seeking one additional Diviner (i.e. GM) to run Divination RPG at Gen Con 2024. We are seeking someone who can run a single session and be a “backup” for three other sessions. Diviner will receive a free four-day badge (or full reimbursement if you have already purchased one).

To be considered, you must be available to run Divination on Saturday 8/3 from 9:00am-1:00pm, AND serve as a backup/alternate for the following three sessions: Thursday 6-9pm, Friday 2-6pm, and Sunday 10am-2pm. Alternates need to check in at the start of each game and are released when all Diviners arrive. (FWIW, this is our fifth year running Divination at Gen Con and we’ve never needed to call upon the services of an alternate Diviner.)

No previous experience is required with Divination RPG or with tarot to submit for this opportunity. We will provide all table materials for your session (including a tarot deck if necessary), and will send out game rules and preparation materials in early July.

Running a game in a convention setting has some unique considerations such as time limits, teaching the game as you play, managing strangers of all personalities, etc. In order for us to best prepare you, it helps to know if you have experience in this area.

An RWS Tarot deck is any deck that follows the Rider-Waite Smith naming and structure. (It’s okay if you don’t know what that means.) Using your own deck is not required, this simply helps us know how many we need to have available.

If you have already purchased a badge and we assign you a GM badge, you’ll be able to get yours reimbursed. (Per Gen Con, GMs with attendee badges that have not been refunded before the show will need to bring those to GM HQ by 5pm Thursday, August 1, for a post-show refund. You will be responsible for making sure this happens in order to get your reimbursement.)
